Rising country star Drew Baldridge released a lyric video for his new single “Dirt On Us,” a boys-will-be-boys mid-tempo with scenes filmed in Patoka, Ill.
The video was the latest to feature his southern Illinois hometown. In 2013, Baldridge invited a couple hundred of his friends for a pasture party in Patoka. One of his earlier hits, “B.Y.O.B” was filmed on a typical rainy summer evening that July, and it chronicles the cautionary tale of running out of party supplies while partying out in the backwoods.
There’s also “Tractors Don’t Roll,” which is an homage to small town living.
Baldridge has had quite a summer. He finished in the top five of the iHeart Radio Macy’s Rising Star Contest. He performed at the 50th anniversary weekend for Carlyle Lake, and he will open for Granger Smith at the Du Quoin State Fair on Aug. 29. According to his Facebook page, Baldridge will drop a new single in August.
